Building a Curated Feed with Google Reader
I've been a fan of Google Reader for the past year or so. I have 82 subscriptions right now, and according to my trends, I'm reading about 2000 items per month. I get updates from friends and family as well as most of my news this way. I also get a lot of junk.
So, I've recently started building a "curated' feed using the "share" feature of google reader. I use this to track my favorite items for blogging or referencing in the future. Google puts my shared items on a nice little page with it's own RSS feed. See: http://www.google.com/reader/shared/10869527940623650925
Today, I read on VentureBeat that Google was rolling out a new feature to add notations to each shared item. SO SWEET. Now, not only can I make notes in my curated feed, but I can also add any URL directly into the feed using a clever browser bookmarklet.
To complete to circle, I subscribed to this feed using Drupal's Aggregator. So, now you can following along with my reading habits on the left column of this blog.
